Tension arose on Wednesday along the India-Bangladesh border in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, after a BSF jawan was reportedly abducted near Sutiar and Nurpur Chandni Chowk areas. The jawan was on patrol near Kathalia village when Bangladeshi nationals allegedly took him across the international border.
Following the incident, the Border Security Force engaged in talks with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to resolve the situation. After several hours of communication and negotiation, the Indian jawan was released and returned safely to Indian territory.
The incident lasted only a few hours and was resolved without further escalation. Both Indian and Bangladeshi border forces maintained contact during the episode to ensure the safe release and restore normalcy along the sensitive border region.
